the Morrowind Dare

Given the often great Ideas in many game-based dares, I thought it might be interesting to create one of my own. I would like to note that this is not intended to be the final version, but that further ideas and more rules are very welcome and encouraged.

The game in question will be The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

While really not that hard a game for anyone who can read texts, follow instructions, proceed carefully and doesn't care about playing the extensions, it should be noted that people coming from Skyrim often complain that charging into big groups of high-level enemies with terrible equipment and very low skills, doesn't work. It is your job to show that the game is perfectly playable and that they are just bad at it. For a start pick your class:

Warrior (For Girls): Warriors are typically rough men who care little for their looks but for practicality, protection and strength. If this is what you care about, You will have to follow these rules until you are done with the game:
  • No Shaving anywhere
  • No female-specific clothes (T-Shirts, regular Jeans, heavy Boots: Yes. Female Tops, skirts, skinny jeans, Heels: NO!) and obviously no make-up. The only exception are tight sport-bras (no other bras).
  • Instead of a handbag, you will care a backpack that weighs at least 5kg (put in stones if necessary). Combat gear is heavy.
  • No more than one shower a day, and no more then thrice a week washing your hair.
  • When playing the game you always have to wear the most protecting clothing you own. (Heavy gloves, heavy boots, thick jackets, ... (Yes, it will be warm, but so is armor))

Sorceress (For Sissies): Sorceresses are women with weird powers that will often try to distract men with extravagant clothing and prefer to avoid fights. The following rules apply until you have beaten the game:
  • No male underwear of any kind
  • Your entire body (except for the hair on your head) has to be shaven the entire time
  • Always care at least two articles for makeup with you (lipstick, nail-polish, ...)
  • Absolutely no cumming (if possible lock yourself in chastity and store the key where you cannot easily get it
  • When playing the game you always have to wear only female clothing and make-up

Coward (For Babies): Thieves cannot stand the thought of encountering a fair conflict. Unlike Warriors who seek it and Mages who don't mind to burn cities to the ground, they will poop their pants before risking an open fight. In real live they have to follow these rules:
  • You must always wear a diaper, and carry fresh ones for replacement with you. Accidents would be too risky.
  • Similar to the sorceress you must be clean-shaved as a baby the entire time.
  • No drugs of any kind for you over the time, the risks are to big (though widely not recognized as such, alcohol, tobaco and coffein are drugs as well!)
  • The night is frightening. As soon as it gets dark go to bed (If, for some reason you cannot, go as soon as possible)
  • When playing the game you are not allowed to visit the toilet until four hours after quitting it.

Mandatory rules (no punishments listed, because if you cannot follow these, simply don't do the dare). If you don't know why some of these things are like cheating, don't look them up.
* No cheating
* Bug-using is cheating (see above)
* Abusing alchemy is cheating (see above)
* Making money with potions whose ingredients you just bought is cheating (see above)
* Using creature-merchants is cheating (see above)
* Selling soul-gems with souls of summoned creatures is cheating. (see above)
* Selling expensive items in exchange for many less expensive ones that you then sell also is cheating. (guess what)

Player-Character

Warriors have to pick a male Orc as race and pick a class that has heavy-armor, block and axe as major skill. You are required to use those as primary equipment (no light or medium armor, no marksman-weapons, no magic!). If given a choice how to proceed in a quest, you should usually pick combat as your solution for problems.

Sorceresses must pick either a Breton or Altmer female and the only allowed weapons are short blades and staves. Furthermore it is unacceptable to wear armor (Morrowind doesn't have chainmail-bikinis ;-)). Fighting has to be done primarily through the use of magic, be it destructive spells, conjuration or preventing fights by using your magic to calm your opponents. As you are supposed to be a good sissy you are supposed to follow all orders that NPCs give you, but have to give preference to orders given by females.

Thieves should mainly use light armor, short-blades and marksman-weapons. A good thief never buys when he can steal and runs from open fights if he can.

Punishments

If you die, you have to restart the entire game unless a rule below tells you to do something else.

If you get caught by a guard and pay of your bounty you will also receive a flogging. Spank yourself on the butt once for every ten gold of bount (rounded up, if your bounty is a thousand gold, that is 100 spanks). If you decide to serve time in Jail instead, you will make experience with surprising sexual encounters. Wear a butt-plug for three hours per day of in-game time that you spend in prison.

Resting in game will also result in a short rest in real live: Warriors have to drink a glass of bear EVERY TIME time (Yes, that means alcohol! If you don't like the taste of beer, you may drink mead if you can get it). Sorceresses will instead use the break to do re-apply their make-up EVERY TIME (At the very least the lipstick, but more if you rest longer). Thieves will just drink a glass of water EVERY TIME. (For the purpose of this rule waiting = resting).

If you join conflicting factions (sadly the game allows you to), like the mages guild and House Telvanni you loose the privileges that either gives you but have to keep the disadvantages.

If you don't follow your day-to-day rules, you will have to use all your gold to buy a single arrow from a merchant of your choice. You may not sell expensive equipment to him until his gold has reset.

If you don't do a punishment, you have to follow the rules that only apply during the game for 24 hours, with the following additions: Warriors have to always carry their weapon (Put your largest dildo in your pussy and leave it in there the entire time). Sorceresses become afraid and would normally loose all their magicka the way that other people loose their bowl-content and have to stop that (wear a butt-plug the entire time). Thieves don't have access to such advanced stuff and simply loose it (No diaper-changes the entire time, start the 24 hours by inserting a suppository.)

If you make use of a skill other than athletics and acrobatics that is neither associated with your character-orientation (combat/magick/stealth), nor listed above, you will have to perform the following punishments:

Combat-skills: Get used to wearing heavy equipment. For one day always care a bag with you that weighs at least 10kg.
Magic-skills: Magic is for sissies, and so you encounter weird side-effects: Deep-throat your largest dildo 20 times.
Stealth-skills: Disregarding your regular rules, you will have to wear thieves underwear (diapers) for a day.

Special Faction-Rules

Warriors in House Redoran are taught that fighting is not everything and that honor is important. You may choose a non-violent path to end quests if it is honorable. You are not allowed to lie to NPCs unless you feel that it is to protect innocent others. Finally you may use a sword or a spear as primary weapon.

Sissies that join the Telvanni must really be into getting enslaved. Get yourself a short chain and a padlock and wear those as collar in real live until you have beaten the game.

Thieves who join the Hlaalu will soon learn that being stealing from influential people decreases the disposition of powerfull people. You are no longer allowed to steal from merchants in Vivec and Balmora, but may now buy from them.

Achievements

Becoming leader of a great-house:

Warriors will be allowed to shower and wash their hair as often as they want.
Sorceresses will be allowed to try to cum once a weak through use of a vibrator in their pussy. (Not on their clitty, and no matter what happens, the vibrator will stay in there on the maximum level for exactly fifteen minutes.)
Thieves may wear regular underwear for one day per week.

Becoming leader of a different faction: You may create a save-game. If you die, you may restore the game there instead of starting over, but only once per faction. (You will not loose these saves however, so if you become leader of the legion first, then of the imperial cult, then die, restore the save where you became leader of the cult, then die again, you may restore the save where you became leader of the legion, but nothing else.)

Advancing in the Game

Leveling up: You are so deep into the game, that you want to stay in character even after finishing it. For every level-up you will have to follow the rules that normally only apply when you play the game.

Mastering Skills (reaching 100 points): Perform the action listed below immediately and repeat it on every level-up. If you master multiple skills, you will have to repeat it multiple times.
  • Combat-skill: You will have to train hard to stay in such great shape. Perform 100 push-ups for the first skill, 100 sit-ups for the second and 100 units of different tasks for every further skill.
  • Magic-related skills: Becoming good in magic requires great willpower. Perform corner-time; turn around when you think that ten minutes have passed. If that is the case you are done, otherwise repeat, doubling the minimum time at every new attempt.
  • Stealth-related skills: A good thieve has to be able to act innocent in the presence of others, even if he isn't. Give yourself an enema, put on a diaper if you aren't wearing any and spend at least 30 minutes in public, visible by other people. Try to neither make a mess, nor to attract attention.

Getting a message about weird dreams: For every such message you will watch/read porn for halve and hour before going to bed. You are not allowed to cum until the next morning (sissys of course not at all).

Getting the Corpus-disease: You feel very ill and loose control over your some parts of your body. Insert a suppository immediately and re-insert a new one after every visit to the potty. Do this until you got the "cure".

Completing the third trial as warrior: A famous warrior cannot leave his house without a weapon. Always wear a dildo in your pussy when you are not at home.

Completing the third trial as sissy: You are now known well in-game. You should help with that in real-life as well, paint your toe-nails in a non-nude color (not black) (finger-nails if public is not a limit).

Completing the third trial as thieve: A well known thieve is a bad thing, as it makes everything harder. You will no longer be allowed to pee in toilets, you have to use your diapers for this all the time.

Every time a tribe names you Nervarine, you will have to ask in a person-above-thread for a (hidden-)public dare that fits your character-class. You may not continue playing until you have completed it.

Every time a house names you Hortator, you will perform a dice-dare that fits with the houses associated class (Redoran -> workout, Hlaalu -> Diapers, Telvanni -> Sissyfication (Girls should try to find a crossdressing-dare for them)).

Once Vivec acknowledges you, the real work starts. Warriors will now have to do 50 push-ups and 50 sit-ups per day, Sissies have to wear one non-hidden piece of female clothing the entire time (May be non-obvious, such as female Jeans), and thieves are now only allowed two diaper-changes per day, as well as being forbidden from peeing in the toilet.

Once you acquire both Keening and Thunder, the end is very close and you have to perform sacrifices to save the world. Warriors won't have time to change their clothes or to shower until their quest is completed. Sissys have to make sure that they are completely feminized all the time and are not allowed to wear any male clothes at all until they finish the main-quest. Thieves will be so afraid, that they will always have brown pants (whenever you change your diaper insert a suppository. You are not allowed to use the toilet at all.

Finishing the Game

Once you finish the main-quest, you are free to stop following the rules and may return to your regular live. OR you may decide to increase the difficulty by starting the first extension (Tribunal) with similar rules. If you want, you may create a save-game before you start it, and you may return to it an unlimited number of times.

Once you have finished Tribunal, you may do the same with Bloodmoon. Sissies should only do that if they are into permanent chastity, since Solstheim is basically a dying-ground for mages.

Always nice to see game dares! That's really detailed. I can't give feedback as I've never played Morrowind, the maximum I saw of it is speed-runner videos where people fly to the final area and finish it in 6 min... And it is also too public for me.

But considering it is an Elder's Scroll game, if it's like Oblivion and Skyrim it could be months till someone finishes it. Seems quite challenging to keep these rules going for so long. And making people rush the main quest to finish it makes it lose its charm.

Is there really nobody to take the chance? There are three distinct groups of people for whom this dare should be interesting. If there would be some interest, I would also be willing to extend some of the rules to make it more interesting.

I will say I approve of your game choice and the length of your post but I think I am still mad from like 15 years ago when my save game ruined because I killed some hostile things that pissed a guy off that I needed to talk to, to progress the game.

foxknot69 05-13-2017 04:44 PM

I would love to do this, but unfortunately I can't do any of those options.

Daleskyfan 05-16-2017 04:46 PM

I absolutely love this dare, but, I do not own Morrowind. If you were to make a version for Oblivion or Skyrim, I would be able to give feedback for those.

That is something that should be easy to change. Apparently you can get it very cheap on several plattforms, among them steam. And given that it is a very great game, you won't have to spend money just for this dare.

I have played neither, because they don't run on my computer, while openmw does. Form what I hear however, they were very much dumbed down and lost a lot of the complexity that Morrowind had. So: I certainly will not make versions for those (I don't even really know the plot!)

fpAlexandra 07-02-2017 09:39 AM

It feels weird to post here before filling out my profile, but this is what keep me on this site so here I start.

I really love every piece of the Challenge you have crafted, but the potential duration of the whole experience will probably discourage a lot of people. The Elder scrolls Games are not known for being short or bug free.
Me, I could currently invest maybe an hour per day into a challenge like this, otherwhise I would have taken a stab at this. After all I already dusted of my trusty GOTY box and reinstalled the game.
Maybe I finde a chance more at the End of summer.

I may run into a bit of trouble having actually never played much of the main story of Morrowind or even a pure Mage in any of the the Elder Scrolls games.
But I am sure those facts will make the whole thing more Entertaining. At least for someone.

And for those who want to try but don't have the game: Until the end of Steam Summer Sale 2017 the GOTY version is 50% off. I guarantee that offer will come around again at least once a year on any online plattform of your choice.

If ther is still interest then I will be back with a report of my adventures once they are on their way.
Maybe until then I was able to write a few words about myself, too.

Fiona 07-15-2017 04:01 AM

I would definitely be interested in a report.

Maybe I should change about changing the rules a bit with regards to dying given that it can be hard to avoid and that the game is quite relentless in many aspects. I think it is necessary that there are dire consequences to it, but restarting all over might be too much for the start.

Any suggestions?

I got a request this week to come up with a less draconic punishment for death. Admittedly I do know many tricks around the game which make it a lot easier to not die all the time, so maybe I went a bit overboard here.

So if you feel the need for somewhat tamer rules for dying use these:
  • You are only allowed to save immidiately after you have slept in a bed(!) that you are allowed to use and if your rest has not been itnerrupted.
  • You are allowed to save at most once an hour or when exiting the game for at least a 1h break from it. Disable all auto-saves.
  • You are only allowed to load a save when starting the game or after you died in game.

In case you get stuck through no real fault of your own (the game sometimes does that), you may fix it via the console.

If you die face a punishment depending on your class:

Warriors who die have to first drown their sorrow in alcohol (at least 16cl of a spirit with minimum 30%) and increase the weight in their backpack permanently by 1kg for each time they die (this accumulates up to 20kg).

Sorceresses who get defeated will have to deep-throat a dildo with at least 2cm diameter 30 times. Additionally they will have to permanently wear one more piece of feminine clothing outside the game until the dare is over.

Thieves have to insert a suppository before they leave the house for at least 1 hour and have early bed-time that day: For each time they die, they have to be in bed 1 hour earlier than normal; the latest normal bed-time that is permissible for the sake of this rule is 22:00, so that meanst a thief who dies once, has to go to bed at the latest at 21:00.

(If this sounds harsh, that because it is meant to be: Try not to die!)

Also: I saw that the level-up rule is unclear: For every level up you have to follow the in-game rules for 2 hours after you end the session.
