Removing the 60 Seconds wait time of Reports

So I have been reporting things for quite a while now and I think the 60 Seconds one has to wait between reports seem quite random? I cant see the point behind it. Someone explain it to me? :p I would suggest to remove that time. I mean the waiting time wont change what I am reporting in anyway so whats the point? Maybe make it like: Once a user has x amount of correct reports , it gets removed or whatever :)
Just a suggestion.

i like this idea! :) (also i wonder how many of the same threads/people you and I report sweetteen :p)

Rachie 11-12-2014 08:03 AM

I myself am unsure how to change however believe it could have been set up so that the abusive members who used to report random stuff can't spam as much. (Looking several years back there used to be some people who would report members every few seconds)

PS: just seen just multiple reports and can see what you mean.

Thank you for reporting and helping make gD a better place.

Just for curiosity sake

Sweetteen = 195 valid reports
punishlola= 60 valid reports

Punishlola - yes several of reports are the same however ALWAYS use the report system when required. (Rather have 2-3 reports over inncident than 0 because thought others had done)

Thank you both again

Love Rachie x x x x

Thanks Rachie :) So its up to Depp I suppose? What Im also noticing is that sometimes im not always Sure IF I reported something already. Although this wont be implemented I think but a little box or a sign would be cool for that :c

So, um. Just wanting to be in the conversation and curious, What are some of the things you've reported? What's report worthy? How do you discern when it's okay to give someone grace?

I always report things that are placed in the wrong section (if I pay attention to it, spam, blog spam, $$domming and underage users. I see alot of my reports taken action upon (not that I report that much) but I guess it kinda comes down to that. And other rules being broken ofc.

I mostly report things from the Master/slave area and the lounge. I also report problems in chat with ages or porn. I also keep an eye out for nude pictures when just scrolling around.

I report lots of stuff, but mostly things that have been followed up on in the past (like I see them in the trash on the regs), and are against the written rules in the stickies above the forums.

I have noticed there are some rules that are not enforced, so if I don't see follow up action on a certain kind of report, I will stop reporting that type of thing.

I always report:
  1. bumping ads in the s/m area (or posting more than one ad every 30 days)
  2. threads in the wrong section (ads outside of the S/M area, requests in the dare section, etc.)
  3. links to nudity
  4. spam
  5. underage users
  6. people trying to get money

I sometimes report:
  1. really really annoying people.

EDIT: I agree with the OP too. Sometimes there is a serial poster, or a bunch of people did the same thing, and it gets kind of... unfun waiting for 60 seconds between each one.

EDIT AGAIN: Rachie, you are so nice! :D

Maybe just give the "reporters" a invisble mini-mod status? A status that only removes the 60 second delay?

You would know who does decent 'reporting'

On this same topic, is there a list (like the ban list) that one can go to and see if they've reported something, or if it's been followed up on? Honestly, I've done some reporting, and I'm curious as to how many of them I've been accurate in reporting since sometimes I'm not sure if it's something that should have been reported or not, like it's borderline. I always go with the motto... if you aren't sure it's better to report it than not. LOL.

I don't think there is, but it'd be something to have. As long as only the user can see it so I could see what I report but Mindblower can't see what I report or vice versa.
I'm pretty sure something like that would be helpful.

IceMaiden 04-08-2015 11:29 AM

Now I'm curious how many valid ones I've done too... Sometimes I'm not sure if it is report worthy or not but still do anyway...tell me to stop if I shouldn't and I'm bugging you with that :D

Happy Me 04-08-2015 07:24 PM

Almost all of the reports everyone makes are valid! Keep reporting, we like it. :D
