Sleep...a dangerous game...

Greetings all Blogetteers!

This week has been a particularly bad one for my sleep pattern (I ironically write at 3:42am!).

One thing is I hate mornings...I mean really hate mornings, I've always been more of a night person...however when you work 8:30 until 5 every day (well weekday)...being a nightowl has it's drawbacks...

This website doesn't help haha, due to all the different timezones in play this site is generally being updated 24/7, with obvious lapses during certain periods of the day.

On average I have been getting 4 hours sleep a night this week, particularly as I've been excited about my 500+ post which I've been fighting to get attention for...as it turns out a little too hard haha!
I have a lot of mess and pain to get through...but it's all in good fun...I think that is the correct thing to put...(dies a little inside at the thought of all the cock/ball spankings).
In truth I've never been an extreme member here...but I wanted to compete with the others who post so diligently here and show I can do as the best of them...guess I'll be taught a lesson now for this competitive streak!

But back to sleep...last night I had 2 hours...but at least as a reward, my RP partner will be joining me in one of my messy forfeits...so I think the day of struggle and the 8 hour nap I had after work will be worth it...haha

I do need to do some work into regulating my habits, but now after all these years finally having a place to myself...the complete freedom of that is taking it's toll.

Not to lessen the dangers of sleep deprivation, I haven't had too many ill effects, though I do need to be careful going forward! I'm not as young as I used to be!!

I write this post with tired eyes, but I'm hoping that getting some quality sleep this weekend will serve to mend somewhat...

If anyone has any tips for getting into a more practical routine then do share, self regulation is something I need to work on evidently hahaha

    My suggestion would be to set a bedtime routine. Choose things that help relax you: reading, a bath, a cup of tea? Once you have a routine in place, keep it consistent.

    Don't start by trying to change your pattern drastically, just try 30 minutes earlier than normal and then keep adjusting it until you are in a better routine.

    Butterfly's suggestions are spot on! Setting a routine is stellar! As far as actually getting to sleep I have a few pointers too!

    I had to go to a sleep specialist because of sleep issues, and this is what I learned:
    30 minutes before you plan to sleep, don't look at any more screens (phone, computer, etc.)
    Take melatonin an hour before you are trying to sleep
    Don't hang out in your bedroom except for for bedtime, only go in there when you are planning to sleep (and sex related things are okay too! She specifically said sleep and sex!)

    This only helps after you have the routine set up, but once you decide what time you want to sleep, do the above, and omgosh it makes a world of difference!

    Also, I am sooooo happy about your thread, thank you so much for doing all of that!

    This is something I need to get a handle on...maybe I need to find someone to outsource some of the running of my threads to
