The weight of this sad time we must obey;
Speak what we feel, not what we ought to say.
The oldest hath borne most: we that are young
Shall never see so much, nor live so long.

To whoever I'm assuming tried to de-rep me (it came as a grey square)

I point you to the rules.

So in regards to your specific comment

Quote:
If the kid wants to bump old posts let him. He's not doing anything wrong.
Yes bumping is wrong according to the rules, specifically

Number 12:
Bumping is prohibited on getdare.com

Wish you'd signed your rep comment as well, would have prefered to have mentioned this to you as a private message. Rather than in this public area.

Yes, you're right. Bumping is not only prohibited but is also a major problem I've noticed particularly in the slave/master area (as well as creating double/multiple threads).

Anytime a member points this out, it helps new users to get accustomed to the rules & helps mods to do their job. So, sum1, next time you point one I'll add you rep... and I have enough of it for you to get a green square!

Grey doesn't mean bad rep, I should point out. It's just rep from someone who can't give red/green yet - dunno how this works really.

For those of us who are not internet savy. What is bumping? (D says other than a bad dance or something you do in the middle of the night.) Wow, he really just dated himself.

Posting on a tread that is old, as in hasn't seen any activity in a long time, and thus, bumping it back onto the front pages of the site.

On this site you should be able to bump.

Whats the point of having pages of dares if you can't talk about them? A truth or a dare doesn't become any less relevant as time goes on does it??

It depends. If someone asks for a dare to do at the weekend, it's no use 3 months later is it?

However if it says: Tell us what happened when you did this dare, I think it should be allowed to re-start the thread.

It's also for things like slave requests, where the request is very old, as there are lots of people who pass though leave a request, never to be seen again.

For those check the last log in date of the person who made the request.

I think really bumping is more about putting an old thread up to the front page just to say 'hey look at this old thread'

I don't think relevent contrbutions on intresting threads really counts as bumping.

    Just my opinion anyway

Sorry. When I say there is no bumping I am talking about people posting useless content just so a thread jumps to the top of the list. Bringing up an old thread is fine as long as you have a real contribution to add.
