Banning/Probation Reasons

I seem to remember a thread shortly after I arived which was going to list the reasons for bannings and probations. As that didn't seem to take off, I was wondering at the value of providing *some* information on the reasons for people's censure - whether it's a link from the graphic, or appears on thir profile page for the duration, etc.

I think it would be nice to know why people you've potentially been talking with, or trading posts in forum with have been banned. It might (I did say might) act as a deterrant from people breaking the rules.

Maybe have little icons on their profile;

Something which represents abusive behaviour.
Something which represents spamming.
Something which represents general rule breaking.

There was a thread a few months ago called "Why was user X banned?" I searched & found it. depp had posted the link to the banlist in there so to answer your question:

I don't think there's really much point in putting something in peoples profiles, if you want to find out why someone was banned it's already there. Though that link could be stickied somewhere, maybe getdare.com section so that people can access it easily if they really want to know.

I don't usually care why someone's been banned, and you can for the most part guess.

many thanks for that both of you :) and that was the thread I'd been thinking of - I assumed (stupidly) that it wasn't worth looking back for the thread as it'd have worked is way up the listing if it had had any posts!
