That is actually quite a thought there, wouldn't mind the same. But add clamps, floggers, candles, feathers and a whole host of other things that are probably not best discussed on the board but rather left to the imagination.

Wow I used to do the same, I was the technicain for a small local theatre for over a year before i left for bigger better things.

Theatre is amazingly fun work, I was always a Lighting type of guy myself. What did you prefer?

I'm currently finishing a university course on drama, I've always had a love of acting, and want to attempt to pursue that, however I'm fully aware of the around 90% unemployment so have been learning some tech over the last few years, rather interested in sound design and have a decent eye for light, tech has about a 30,000 person skills shortage over the next few years.

Yup, you need a second skill - acting won't necessarily pay to keep you alive! But even then there are some very well qualified techies so qualifications will be important!
