Getdare Webcam?

I doubt this will be at all possible, but at least it might interesting.

The function of it would be to view in real time what a user is doing, be it replying to threads/posts and what not. Like it can view you typing stuff. We could have webcams for different users, so let's if we wanted to click's depp's webcam, there can be link that has his name, we click on it, and then a pop up window of his cam for us to view.

Or, it could just be a getdare webcam. One webcam to cam the whole site and everyone's actions.

Obviously, the webcam will never show the person.

I also agree, cams by mutual consent is one thing, but cams for stalking is another and sounds a bit creepy.

I think that in large getDare is a fairly safe and friendly place at the moment and there are procedures for dealing with any problems that might occur. However the introduction of such a feature would be a quantum change for getDare and would probably introduce a whole new set of problems.

And, more to the point, why should ANYONE need to know exactly what someone else is doing at any one time? Why should it matter to anyone what threads I'm actually typing in?

Noting, as well, that that's not even a webcam (as a cam would show the user, not what the user's typing/doing).

In addition, it's an invasion of privacy that not even facebook would attempt.

Plus, there's something "almost" similar. If you check on someone's profile it will tell you roughly what they're doing in the "Current Activity" bit under their name. I think that's as far as we ever need to go.

I really don't like the idea of this. I hate being on cam, and especially to people who I don't know. And even with the on off feature it would lead to people being harassed to go on cam.

And showing what people are typing is an invasion of privacy... and more to the point useless for the site as its all posts and blogs that people can SEE when you have posted them...

You simply would not be able to ensure this and what would be the point of it anyway. If web cams were linked to getDare they would transmit what the user pointed them to. Also some web cams are fixed e.g. like those on laptops.

That isn't a webcam, that's a screen sharing option. And there's no technology to allow showing a cam of only what someone's doing on one site and not when they tab to other things, like porn. It does not work.

And it's really creepy. There are plenty of other sites if you want to broadcast yourself doing things like that.

Because a webcam would be exactly that, a camera on a computer that shows the person sat at it. There's nothing else that can be called a webcam at all.

More to the point, as someone else said, this is screen capture technology, and it wouldn't just show what someone was doing solely on GD (WHY that would ever be wanted I don't know... what? In case a slave is sending messages to another master or something? lol) It would also show anything that person does... so what's to stop someone setting their webcam to show themselves on their screen and then getting naked?

Even the basics of how it would work is an invasion of privacy, and thus would be abused, let alone if it was actually capturing the screen of someone.

Ridiculous idea from the beginning, and wasn't thought through.
