Seeing as how my Friday night has completly been ruined by a broken foot and other things, I want to dramitically improve getDare starting tonight. Please add to this list, as I want all your ideas. This is my list of suggestions...

A sub-forum in the getDare.com section titled "The Suggestion Box" where people can create threads with suggestions, and then users can discuss them,
A Master seeking slave section and a slave seeking master section during next massive overhaul (Depp said it would take some time)
A private forums for our better members (existed in the past and may exist again, mods are working on it)
Public Groups (we don't have any but it is a feature of VBulliten)
A complete list of all getDare policies (I am searching the forums and compiling a list)


PLEASE leave your suggestions, or comment my suggestions or others.

A Master seeking Slave & Slave seeking Master would be great! It would be faster for people seeking & maybe people would receive less "unapropiated messages" (does that make sense?)

why not just put in a profile search option and let people contact other people. It would also make people have to put information in there profiles.

Yes I agree with you. But when you click on a user's screenname you get their public profile. The problem is that many people don't take those 2 precious minutes of their lifetime to do so. The only option left would be to have at least the age of the user next to their name. But then again we have the signature option & some people disregard it also...:(

Yes I remember reading it. Don't remember who it was but definitely a good idea. I mean it's in the best interest of all users here. Would make things easier for newbies I think.

Good. I felt it was a very interesting issue. I don' t want to knock on people as there are some newcomers who are not used to this site but still it's a bit annoying when people PM you randomly because they can't see directly basic infos such as age... I hope it can be done. :)

Why not just show the age of each person above the postcounts or sumthing? we had that on another forum and it worked really fine...

i think that there are people who want to be slaves and masters who r 14/15, i think it would be a bit risky to lower the age limit but it might work if 14 year olds were only allowed 14 year old slaves/ masters and the same with 15 year olds.. just a thought

too many problems with this, someone could possibly lie about there age when they create an account, which could result in problems for the sight. Its best to keep it to the legal age.

I agree, of course, some may lie when registering their account and you can't prevent that. [Wonder how it would stand up in a court of law if an over legal age (wherever) Master was taken to court by the police / parents of an under legal age (wherever) slave when the Master believed the slave was of age based on what the slave had said? Guess it would still be potentially a huge problem for the mature Master!]

But GetDare should not be seen to be encouraging such under age activity by allowing, or not stopping, or perhaps even appearing to encourage under age Master / Slave relationships etc.

I think that even if both participants are under age, legal action can still be taken that would effectively ruin lives!

Stupid people sign up. And they will continue to sign up. No one can prevent that. But the staff has done a great job lately of banning the really stupid. People need to use some common sense when signing up. Especially if u r gonna be a slave or a master, be smart and be safe.

Some of the reasons people don't post in details is that they don't want too much information getting out too quickly. I know in other sites that putting in too much info can allow you to be found out who you really are. This is not a problem for most people, but again as we have a number questionable aged people that come in here, <16, then this is not a good thing. Maybe instead of having a chat that seems that it doesn't used get used much, why not have a forum that people can enter like a chat but get real time messages from each other.

This site is pretty good considering it is dealing with some questionable ages and some moronic people who just don't get what the BDSM/slave Master thing is all about.

I love coming in here when I can and checking out the stories and some of the other fun things that appear in here, even tho I don't post many posts, I am one of the people that prefer to talk one on one and not in posts but that is just me being shy.

Your color system may help but the real problem is that this is an international issue and every country and or state may vary on age limits for certain activities. For example some US states allow 16 year old persons to have heterosexual sex but must be 18 for same sex. Other states are 18 across the board and in some same sex is illegal at any age. In some countries just viewing porn could get you executed. Your 16 age may be OK in the UK but would get you arrested in many US states. I would suggest if a person is under age 18 they must state their age and birth date and be restricted to a very mild portion of the site. Also most sites have a restricted area for adult content and requires the user to click the bar stating they are 18+. In a day where the popular thing seems to be to set people up in illegal situations and then barge in and arrest them on world wide TV for the sake of entertainment one must not take any chances. You may win the case in court but you would still be labeled a child molester in the public eye because you were duped and not cautious and suspicious. I do not condone illegal sexual activity with or exploitation of minors but this sort of thing and the entrapment that is going on should not be public entertainment. Innocent people have their lives destroyed by another's greed and deception.

We are taking small steps into making this into an "age restricted" site, for example when I joined this site, I posted in the Slave/Master section and I was 14 and it wasen't against the rules. The problem with making these age restrictions is that we've always feared that it will discourage younger users to using this site and/or create a gap between the older and younger members of this site. We've (The site, not just the mods) discussed many possiblities to making more age restricted including stuff like increasing the age you need to be to 14 (instead of 13) to even creating another site just for the older getdare audience. We tossed both these ideas out for the exact reason above, we didn't want to increase the gap between the older and younger users. So people use caution, I don't really feel like hearing about getdare on the news anytime soon.

I completely agree with UsaSlaveGurl here. Even if there's an age restriction for some sections on the site anyone can always lie about their age... The mods here seem to make the best they can from what I've seen since registering here so the best advice is for each users to be careful & smart about what they do & what they engaged in. Users have some responsibilities here, not just the mods I think.

I'm very new here, so I don't want to sound like a smart arse know it all, but i really don't want to connect with anyone under the age of consent (sorry, but I'm not that kinda guy), so some indication of age range would be great.

Every section of the site has RSS feeds! You can find the URL in the code of each section or by clicking your browsers RSS icon. In Firefox it is to the right of the URL.

A couple of months ago I made a basic getDare RSS reader. If people really want it I could crack out the code again. You can always just use a normal RSS program though and likely get more features.

It's Never Too Late For A Suggestion!

A picture section has been discussed between the mods before. The 100 posts would be a problem because it may cause some spam. Also if nude pictures are to be shown, then it would have to be 18+

thats a good idea but people could just post thats a great dare 100 times though im sure depp could adjust this dare to suit the site

I think we need a button that can enable / disable "Unread Posts".

For example, posts come up that are in "Rated R : Mature Stories" and, due to my age, I can't read / get rid of.

Also, half of the "Unread Posts" I don't even read, so I'd prefer to disable it.

oo would it be possible to have a setting on unread posts so that you can select the sections that you want unread posts to show up from and ones you don't eg could untick louge and posts from there wouldn't show up.
Also as i type this i realise that this should probably be merged into that suggestions thread that was about a few days ago
