There are so many amazing things that happen in the here and now. The way that the leaves change colour before they fall. How the earth spins round at exactly the distance for life to exist. Why must so many people tarnish these things with our man-made concepts of God and the afterlife? When I ask 'Why am I here?', I can look at the amazing processes that brought about my birth, most of which I will never fully understand. The religious way of answering that question, though, is 'God gave you life'. It seems so much simpler, and less forfilling, to me.

Just wanted to thank you Betty. Somewhere amid the 8 random pages that made up this thread, you gave me a GREAT idea for a gift to get my friend for her upcoming birthday.

If you really want to be an actress, then I say go for it. You're right, it happens for some people. Maybe you can be one of them. I have a few friends who are actors/actresses/dancers and a lot of them are all struggling, but they're sticking with it. Most of them are part of Off-Broadway productions but every now and then they land a spot on a commercial or a cameo in a movie which is definitely huge for them. I think pretty much all of them work in catering to pay the bills, but hey that's what you have to do sometimes in order to do the thing you love.

You had said you wanted to study in the US in the future. Being born in the US, I am definitely biased when I say go for it. NYU is great for performing arts, but it's hella expensive and full of douchebags. You had also said if you could visit one place in the world, it would be Hollywood. Well, you might want to reconsider that one. I lived there for a year as a struggling musician
and I realized: there are two types of people walking the streets of Hollywood during the daytime, those who are smiling and those who are not. Those who are smiling bought a round-trip ticket.
