New stuff comes to getDare.com

A large project is in the works here. It will be broken down into four parts.


Template creation (done)
CMS & Template integration (done)
Content merge (done... mostly)
Dare database merge & update


I'll keep you all updated in this thread on myt progress in getting getDare updated.

Currently I am 70% done with the new template. The look is finished but I have a bit more work to do before it is ready to be setup with the CMS (content management system).

btw doesnt this cost money? i mean the domainname (getdare.com) the forum and stuff? if so, i have a good idea for you depp, make pay-members (they pay like 5 dollar a year or something) and get benefits like:

-a better (bigger) profile
-a daily email with Dare and Truth of the day
-they can visit the Members list
-A view sections of the site eg are only for them
- once in a while a competition for a slave (who volounteers) only open for the paid-members
- and maybe other things...

so in my idea there are 5 groups: Users (non-members) Members, PRO members(the paid ones), Moderators, and Admin

it will be interesting for them and for you, so that you not only loose monny ;)

and to prevent that everyone can be a paid one, you have to invite ppl bfr they can join the paid ones....
and eg if a paid-member has made 5 paid-members who are rlly paying the one who made them member doesnt has to pay

eg Chris is the first paid-member, he paid 5 dollar

he invites:
George
Ronald
John
Rob
Stephan

if all those ppl agree and pay the money, chris gets a free year (does not have to pay) but if someone stops paying the year after that, chris has to pay again....

in this way you wont loose so much money on this site depp

Good ideas! I'll keep them in mind as I work on the site.

I don't often talk about money here but the site currently comes close to paying it's own costs. I'll think about payed members in the future however. Extra cash would help the site (and me!). If I do create such a system I'll be sure old members get hooked up. I don't want to leave loyal visitors behind. :-)

err... to be honest most of the younger members on this site 12-16 year olds, use this site, making sure that their parents do not find out about it. Therefore bringing in a pay theme would create a disadvantage for the younger members since they could not pay unless they used their parents credit card details.

It shud b kept free and friendly!
