Why KiK when SkyPe is so much better?

Even tough KiK has played a lot of catch up, including the ability to use cam and voice (which SkyPe has had, along with normal text, for ages),SkyPe is still a technically superior platform.


SkyPe keeps its history on the server, while KiK keeps it on the device. Loose or get your device stolen, or you just upgrade it, and you loose all your chats.
SkyPe allows you to use any computer on any OS, plus any phone/tablet of any kind, while KiK forces you to use a phone/tablet (but it is quite flexible in that regard).


For those 2 reasons, I don't understand why KiK is so successful...
