Is there any song lyrics that you really like? If yes then write them down here and explain why you like them. I'll start off with couple of my current favourites.

“Set sail to sea but pulled off course, by the light of golden treasure. How could he know this new dawn’s light would change his life forever?”
- Metallica - The unforgiven III

I like the second half of this, because it sort of suggests that you never know when you'll get a big chance, and it just makes me want to try and take every chance i get

“Best, you’ve got to be the best, you’ve got to change the world, and use this chance to be heard. Your time is now”
- Muse - Butterflies and Hurricanes

Again, like the first one, to me it says that you should take any chances you have, and try to make the very best of it that you can, and i just find that line somewhat inspiring.

So let me know some of your favourites, and if this thread gets going i'll keep posting back any new favourites of mine also.

Look forward to hearing yours :)

p.s - sorry if this has been done before

My word and world holds ground and is real.
The Sacrilegious Scorn- Dimmu Borgir

I like it as its about not believing in religion.

"How many died today? How many lost their homes or shot a gun, or a loved one? What happened to our sons?"
- I Know I'm Not Alone by Michael Franti

I like it because it's kind of sad, if that makes sense. I don't like it BECAUSE it's sad, I like it because it has meaning. It makes you feel.. It's about the war, and how stupid it is. The questions on peoples minds when they think about the voilence.

"Dear God, The only thing i ask of you is to hold Her when i'm not around, when i'm much too far away" - Dear God by Avenged Sevenfold

I like this one because it really applies to me and my girlfriend. i live in st helens and she lives in nottingham, literally 100 miles away from each other =[.

I also like,
"I'm on the verge of a breakdown, I'm on the brink of an epic meltdown, I'm on my way to a flatline, Oh, Oh, Yeah" - Let It Go by Escape The Fate

I like this one because this song is the first one that comes into my head when i need cheering up, it is simply amazing =]

Another,
"Baby don't talk to me, I'm trying to let go. Not loving you is harder than you know." - Harder than you know by Escape The Fate

I like these lyrics cause they hold so much emotion in them, the song as a whole is a very emotional song, also a very good song.

Finally,
"ROOTS! Bloody Roots! Roots! Bloody Roots! Roots! Bloody Roots! Roots! Bloody Roots!" - Roots Bloody Roots by Seputura.

Now, before you say anything, no this is not all the words in the entire song. It's the chorus lyrics xD Anyway, I like them for the basic fact that they are simple, forceful (more so when Max Cavelera sings them) and that when Max's new band (Cavelera Conspiracy) play this song live, the building practically explodes. Simply amazing song!

I probably do have more but i cant be bothered finding them right now and i think ive done enough already XD
so, see ya =]

"our name is our virtue"
-Jason Mraz - I'm Yours

"and birds go flying at the speed of sound to show you how it all began... birds keep flying from the underground, if you could see it then you'd understand"
-Coldplay - Speed of Sound

"your prince's crown cracks and falls down, your castle hollow and cold, you've wandered too far from the person you are.... let go brother, let go"
-Keane - The Frog Prince

One of my favorite lyrics, which actually inpsired one of my stories is . . .

"Everyone has a dumpster, a stumbling block they can't ignore, but to fight it makes you stronger."

It gives me hope. It's from The Wedding Singer: The Musical.

I'll probably have more at some point!

I'll be posting here a lot, depending what song is stuck in my head. Now then:

Flip on a switch
And everything's fine
No more lips, no more tounge, no more ears, no more eyes
The naked blue angel who peers through the blinds
Disappears in the gloom of the mirror-blue night.

But there's nowhere to hide from these bones from my mind
It's broken inside I'm a man and a child
I'm at home with a ghost who got left in the cold
Who knocks at my peace with no keys to my soul.

-The Mirror-Blue Night, Spring Awakening

That I Would Be Good- Alanis Morisette

That I would be loved, even when I numb myself,
That I would be good, even when I am overwhelmed,
That I would be loved, even when I was fuming,
That I would be good, even if I was clingy.

Unwritten- Natalie Bedingfield

Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

Oh, oh, oh

I break tradition, sometimes my tries, are outside the lines
We've been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can't live that way

Broken- Lifehouse

I'm falling apart, I'm barely breathing
With a broken heart that's still beating
In the pain there is healing
In your name I find meaning
So I'm holdin' on, I'm holdin' on, I'm holdin' on
I'm barely holdin' on to you

My favorite song lyrics comes and goes, but those are the three that have always stood with me. :)

Are there any queers in the theater tonight?
Get them up against the wall!
There's one in the spotlight, he don't look right to me,
Get him up against the wall!
That one looks Jewish!
And that one's a coon!
Who let all of this riff-raff into the room?
There's one smoking a joint,
And another with spots!
If I had my way,
I'd have all of you shot!

...

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.

Sums up the 'human condition' we piss our lives away and only regret it when it's too late to do anything about it.

My favorite song lyrics are
"When my time comes, forget the wrongs that I've done, help me leave behind some reasons to be missed, don't resent me, and when you're feeling empty, keep me in your memory leave out all the rest."
That's from the song "Leave Out All the Rest" by Linkin Park

From Utada Hikaru, Dareka No Negai Ga Kanau Koro (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d10M99awaaQ)

Anata no shiawase negau hodo wagamama ga fueteku yo
soredemo anata wo hikitometai itsu datte sou
--------translates to ---------------
The more I wish for your happiness, the more selfish I become
But still, I want you to stay, and I always did

Also, another song from Utada Hikaru called Colors (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAPMPlIRdYo). Can't pink any line, the whole song is meaningfull.

They're both a bit sad, but for some reason not depressing. Or well, that's how I feel about them :) Especially Colors cheers me up, even though it's more of a sad ballad.

I used to love her, but I had to kill her
I used to love her, but I had to kill her
I had to put her
Six feet under
And I can still hear her complain.

"War of races
World without intelligence

Embryonic cells" - Sepultura "Dead Emryonic Cells" (Ha, so relevent in this day and age)

"Circle of Destruction, Hammer comes crushing

Whipping up a fury, Dominating flurry
We create the Battery" - Metallica "Battery"

"Well she looked at me, and I, I could see
That before too long I'd fall in love with her.
She wouldn't dance with another (whooh)
When I saw her standin' there." - The Beatles "I Saw Her Standing There"

Now the gods grew quite scared of our strength and defiance, and Thor said, "I'm gonna kill them all with my hammer, like I killed the giants."
But Zeus said, "No, you'd better let me use my lightening, like scissors, like I cut the legs off the whales, dinosaurs and the lizards."
And then he grabbed up some bolts, he let out a laugh, said, "I'll split them right down the middle. Gonna cut them right up in half."

Then, in a later verse:

And Osiris, and the gods of the Nile, gathered up a big storm, to blow a hurricane, to scatter us away. In a flood of wind and rain, and a sea of tidal waves, to wash us all away...

"And if my day keeps going this way/

Normally, I don't like Limp Bizkit, but the delivery is excellent. And it's the RvB theme.

from This Is Halloween by Panic! At The Disco from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

"Boys and girls of every age.
Wouldn't you like to see something strange?

Come with us and you will see.
This, our town of Halloween.

I am the one hiding under your bed.
Teeth ground sharp and eyes glowing red.

I am the one hiding under yours stairs.
Fingers like snakes and spiders in my hair.

I am the clown with the tear-away face.
Here in a flash and gone without a trace.

I am the "who" when you call, "Who's there?".
I am the wind blowing through your hair.

I am the shadow on the moon at night.
Filling your dreams to the brim with fright.

In this town we call home.
Everyone hail to the pumpkin song."

Wow! thats a lot of lyrics.

hmmm. 1st credit where credit is due for the three people with a similar music taste to me. KomodoJones with "Leave out all the rest", Pilky6661 with "Dear God" and Softeyes for "This is Halloween" even if the origional is better than Panic!'s version.

I also love...
Cry little sister by Tom G Mac
Immortal fear,
That voice so clear.
Through broken walls,
That scream I hear.

Night of the hunter
Blessed by a bitch from a bastard's seed
Pleasure to meet you but prepare to bleed

And So many more like the lyrics to Peace Is Free by blackstone cherry and a lot of the lyrics in the HIM and infinate others

This makes me sound like such a little kid but..

“You tucked me in, turned out the light, kept me safe and sound at night. Little girls depend on things like that. Brushed my teeth and combed my hair, had to drive me everywhere. You were always there when I looked back. You had to do it all alone, make a living, make a home, must have been as hard as it could be. And when I couldn’t sleep at night, scary things wouldn’t turn out right. You would hold my hand and sing to me.”
“Butterfly Fly Away” by Miley Cyrus.
Although this is about her dad in the movie, this applys to my mom. My mom is a single mom who brought up two kids (one being me) and basically most of this song applys to her.

Next, “You Belong With Me” by Taylor Swift. This song like represents how I feel about my friend. I don’t know if he notices that much.

“See You Again” by Miley Cyrus. How I feel about my friends after see them.

“The Best Day” by Taylor Swift after I hang out with my BESTEST FRIEND everrr!
