If a user is typing, have the word "typing" next to ther username.

Then if person is not typing probably (doesn't type any letters) for a specific length of time, then the word "typing" will go away.

I got that idea from another forum, I really like. It is really nice to have.

This is the same as MSN Messenger.

I don't like the idea, mainly because I often type things, but then keep them there for a while before I send it.

It wouldn't need to be a 'typing', it could be something like (T) or, as I have seen on other sites, a small picture.

I like this feature on msn, as it allows you to see who is active in a conversation, which may stop the frustration of people not knowing if anyone is replying or going to reply.

Yes i agree. This function would allow for people to actualy see if the other person is writting or not, it could avoid some mindless spam aswell.

All in all i think it would be a great upgrade

this would aid people in long convs or if the person/people type slow
