Closed Threads?

Something ive noticed is when an old, uncompleted story resurfaces a mod usually closes the thread. Maybe, if the author has been inactive for a while, the thread could be continued by another author. This would be better i think, because many of these stories have pretty good plots.

And, if the author was still active but just not posting on that thread, they could be PMed for permission for someone else to continue their story.

Its just an idea, are their any takers?

I have only ever seen one example of a story that has been continued by another author that has worked. But I guess as long as the orig. author gives permission for the story to be continued then it should be ok.

However, it should be optional; not obligatory.

what should be done about threads which might have a good plot, but the author has been inactive for a long time?
