After a discussion in the Punishments/ ideas forum(slave master) between mustangman and glutgod i want to know what YOU think

Should it be allowed to just copy-paste dares, truths and punishments from other sites?

I Dont like this copy-pasting. Getdare.com has to be a ORIGINAL site. Of course, you could use things as inspiration but i dont like that people just copy paste a WHOLE page from an other site, (as mustangman did)

the URL's from the two threads that were copypasted are:

Ok, many dares look like another, but this is just copy pasting. There for, I would recommend that those two threads would go to the thrashcan because copy-pasting will give getdare a bad name. and if you want to post a good site or page, please post it in the Promote site thread ( http://www.getdare.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=1265, i think that that is better. So what do you guys think:

Do you think that Copypasting / steal from other sites is a good thing and should be allowed or dont you?

as long as you put the url i think it is fine but, you shouldn't get everything you post on this site from other websites. Its just a nice way to share stuff from other websites you found.

I think it is ok as long as your whole post isn't copy-pasted. It really doesn't say much for your creativity.

Small snippits are ok as long as they are credited. Entire posts (even credited) are not ok. Don't do this.

Yea I agree with depp you can't post a whole site ahem (mustang) even if you give credit just small little prts of it, but if you want it should be ok to just post the url.

listen, i thought that it was made by you at first and those long storys are really cool, but i never ment that you would copy a half site, you could better just give the URL in the Promote that site thread. then everyone could enjoy it. you never had given the url of that long story and yes i never readed something like that bfr. Because you didnt gave the url i thought: hey, he doesnt gives the URL, maybe he want to post it then. But i rather want a URL of the site. And by the way, do you want that the whole getDare site would be duplicated for another site...? be original, that was the power of getDare, that they didnt steal from other sites..

As long as the original author is credited and doesn't complain about it, there's really nothing wrong with it.

There is no debate to be had here. Just don't do it. Small snippets are fine with credit, full stories are not to be re-posted here.
