That is always a concern with "up the ass" dares. That's why, if you're planning on leaving the object in for a long time, it's a good idea to make sure the object has something on the end to keep it from sliding all the way in.

i tried this one last night...i left the tampon in my ass for about an hour...i was a little worried that it would get stuck but pulling on the string and pushing it out a bit made it really easy to come out

They are too absorbant for the rectum. It can seriously hurt the skin in there. If you had to, I'd say coat it completely with vaseline or KY or something first.
