Is it just me or what....this sites all about sex or sex related things but you can't ask for pics or proof.., I respond to a dare to post my url and do but because its adult rated I get bad rep points... Yet a 13 year old can talk about showing her twat off or you can write stories about being raped...site is full of double standards...I'm sure I'll get knocked on rep points again

One part of the site is. If you lurk around you'll notice there's a lot more than that. Lots of users reply to Lounge word games & such nowadays. About the pics rules: Ever heard of private messaging?

There is an age restriction to the s/m area & an age lock to the mature stories section.

If you want a more adult forum there's Kink Talk which you are already registered anyways... getDare was always more TorD-oriented hence the "Dare" in the get...

I do sympathis with you voycoup, im 18 and quite frankly its worrying to think that i could be arrested for some of the possible content on here, and i think that is the reason the mods have to clean up images and links etc....

Kinktalk is ok, but i think there needs to be an adult TORD style board, I gues TORD is seen as a childs thing, and in many cases this assumption is right but in the case of GD.com its wrong, this site isnt a child's site and as such i think an adult area for TORD would be useful, or better would be a TORD forum on Kinktalk, perhaps linked to this forum's TORD section but with the ability to post pics and for 18+ only, its a scary thought to think i could be arrested, despite not actually doing any wrong, i think this world is getting far too sensitive in some areas and numb in others.

Well when I post dares, I don't know if anyone else does it, but i try to post dares or give dares I would be willing to do. Sometimes I fail, and there are some people who would be willing to do illegal dares. You just have to use right judgement when on this forum.

I think this site is great. Ofcourse there are some things that could be improved, but isn't that on every site
The reason this site is great, is just because you have both games and other random things, you can get ideas for when you play TorD with friends, you can play online if you want, and you can talk openly about sexual thing. Especially that last is a good thing, because there aren't that many sites I know of that are so open minded when it comes to sexuality. In my opinion, things that are discussed on this site help a lot more then that idiot sexual education we get in school. Most people on this site are responsible enough, and more then once other members were very helpful about sexual issues I had, that I couldn't discuss with family or in sexual education in school.

As for the 13 year old comment, don't you think it's normal to be interested in sexual things? What were you like at 13? And yes, I do reply to posts with "sexual" content, but also (and a lot more) to game-posts in the lounge.

And what would you call sexual? If I play truth or dare at home, there are lots of dares you could consider sexual, so what's the problem with looking at them here, or even doing the dares from this site?

the problem arises with a contry's laws regarding underage sex/pornography. now some countries will recognise that posting a dare on a dare site involving sexual stuff isnt actually illrgal even if a 13 year old does it. However some people dont see it this way. They see it as a grown man or woman "playing" with children, and hence the problems arise.

and i do agree with voycoup, age restrictions are easy to foil. and the admins say they have ways of banning people and permanently prevent them re-joining under different name etc... but to be fair im fairly sure i could get back with a mixture of a cookie clean out, cache clean out, dynamic IP address, a small proxy chain, effective anti-virus to prevent tracking files, an annonymizer, a new, unrelated email address on a different service and some nice false details. Wouldnt be too hard.

It's a lot of work but there are 13 year olds who are capable of this so its not fool proof. Nothing on the net is.

Still i wouldnt say GD sucks, it just has some flaws when it comes to 18+

I can only say what's already been said. You can write stories about being raped (and, am I correct in thinking there's only a couple that are this extreme anyway) but they're moved to the 18+ section.

You can dare a 13-year-old to do something illegal, but you'll get others advising otherwise. Sometimes mods will step in and say what's acceptable and what isn't.

On the reputation note; people only give reputation (bad) if you've posted something off-topic or just stupid, or maybe to give constructive criticism.

Also, people have signed up with false ages, but check the S/M area... you'll notice a lot of threads have been locked and sorted by the mods, so you can sign up with a false age but you'll be found out at some point.

As suggested, maybe you should just use KinkTalk rather than getDare if "this forum blows". getDare has grown to what it is now with its staff and rules, and there haven't been many issues like this before.

I agree completely. However, as I mentioned before, check the S/M area and banlist. You'll find that 99% of members have been found out under different usernames and/or false ages.

Yeh its true the mods are good at sniffing out inconsitences, and i dont think any of us would say the mods arent doing their job, theyre good, damn good but they will never catch 100% of people. I think kinktalk is the way forward for 18+ but it does need a TORD section, perhaps more aptly named so it doesnt seem so childish.

I very much like the idea of an adult TORD forum on Kink Talk. I'll have to think about how to best implement that.

You can complain all you want but I have to follow the laws of the country I live in. If this site is open to people under 18 I can't have questionable images here at all. This is the reason for Kink Talk. The other site will be expanded. I just like to ease into things.

I understand your frustration but getDare has never since its creation allowed these sorts of images. We have been overwhelmingly text only since day one. That is the culture and focus of the site.

Just a little note about this: Yes there are people who will lie. Some people pretend to be older, some others say they're younger. Some will pretend to be of the other gender. That's not exclusive on getDare but everywhere. Welcome to the internet!

And as NewSlave has pointed even if some do register with false infos such as birth dates very few really keep up with it. I think all staff are doing the best they can with it.

I totally agree with you there, at no point was i trying to put down the GD staff with my replies, you guys do a great job but theres no way you could possibly catch 100% of liars, same as not all criminals get caught, not all computer virusses get stopped etc...

As members we have to take responsibility for common sense and not just accepting things for the truth.

Although i cant say i agree with the renaming of this topic... I think its a valid discussion and shouldnt be rediculed. not only that but it makes the topic less frequented by sensible people and paints a picture that the thread starter is an idiot, which they arent.

If the thread title was a constructive criticism I can guarantee you it would have remained. I don't think the title "this forum blows" is descriptive of the conversation or polite and I have removed it.

True, it certainly wasnt the best title ever, though it does have some points that other members might need to know, such as why images arent allowed and about kinktalk etc...

At the end of the day its your show Depp! So far so good and hopefully kinktalk proves just as good but with less worrying for the over eighteens

Yes, this thread might answer some questions for others, but ultimately, if anyone has any ideas, problems with the site, or questions, they can always PM any staff member, look through stickies in this section, or post in "The Suggestion Box". (It's there for a reason!)

I think this thread DOES bring up some valid points, but I agree with Depp in regards to the name change and how he runs things.
