In the last two years getDare members have sent almost 90,000 private messages!
To help keep out site running quickly and our database happy we we will be changing how the PM system works at the end of this month.
What is changing?
Private messages that are over two years old and stored in your Inbox or Sent folder will be automatically deleted. Custom folders you create (http://www.getdare.com/bbs/private.php?do=editfolders) will be excluded from this.
Why the change?getDare users send a whole lot of private messages. In an effort to keep the site and database running quickly we are are looking for ways to eliminate wasted resources.
How can I prevent my very old messages from getting deleted?
Only messages in the Inbox and Sent folders will be removed. To save a message forever so it is never deleted just create a new folder (http://www.getdare.com/bbs/private.php?do=editfolders) and then move the PMs you wish to save into it.
When can I expect this change?The changes described above will take place after June 30th 2008. Two year old messages will be deleted on a daily bases following this date.
