Old Master/Slave threads will be locked!

All Master/Slave threads with no posts in the last 60 days will be auto locked by the forums software starting tomorrow. This will be done automatically from then on daily by the getDare supercomputer.

Please comment below. If you want to stop this... you have until 2/17/07 at 12:00 am. :D

This will only affect the slave forums!

I agree. If someone becomes interested in an old post, they can always PM the original poster without having to bring a clearly dead post back.

Ok, so the threads are now locked and I think it's a fair balance after inspecting the results. Anything with any reply in the last two months is still open.

Great news. I think we can all agree that the Slave/Master area is the most difficult area to manage around the whole site. I tried to do some patching up there but it's just too much work!

and what to do with the locked threads,

will the threads also be automaticly deleted after .......days? because otherwise you have stilll a extreme big subforum...maybe a idea to consider depp? (to delete all threads after ....days no comments?)

goos idea deppp...... i dont think they should be deleated, because new members can still look at them and it will mean if you only ever post in the slave/master section then you will get a 0 post count.

i feel like they should eventually be deleted. i get stuff about being a slave or a master and i dont do that anymore. maybe not 10 days but eventually they should be deleted...

I've been quite happy with the new 60 day locking policy now in effect. getDare has never removed content for the site in the past and I really hesitate to do it in the future. A lot of people search through those old posts for ideas and there is a lot of good stuff in there.

I'll keep thinking about this though. I do understand the problems.
