Dare game- 21 (thank jackmaster for this one)

Hey. A few months ago, Jackmaster showed me a great dare game to do on msn or any IM service. Anyways here how it goes.

You have two players. Player A and Player B are playing. The goal is to NOT say 21. You may say up to (but can be less than) 3 numbers. After someone says 21 the other person can give the person a punishment/task. It can be predetermained or made up on the spot. For example

A: Lets play 21
B: Ok. Lets have the loser be the winners slave for a day.
A: Ok I'll start.
B: Ok
A: 123
B:45
A:6
B:789
A:101112
B:1314
A:15
B:161718
A:1920
B:21

So B would be A's slave for a day. Hope everyone gets it. Have fun :D

well should the players know that they're not supposed to say 21? if they do know then they would obviously say other #'s. so please clarify if u need to say that u can't say 21. it works great w/o knowing though:D

I've seen this game before. To clarify, each player must say between one and three numbers on each turn. The problem is, if played rationally the game is entirely deterministic. The second player can always win if they play properly.

The perfect strategy for the second player is this: on each turn, pick enough numbers such that your last pick is a multiple of 4. Eventually, you can give your opponent a situation where only 21 is left, forcing a loss.

So, not good as a game, but perhaps good to trick your friend...

Used to do the exact same game in maths at school. With a bit of common sense it's easy to win no matter what turn you take

This is a very basic version of it, i have played it with more complicated rules as a drinking game such as if u say 2 numbers the order gets reversed, you cannot repeat the same number of numbers ie if the person before you says 1 number you cant say 1 number, another good rule is if you get 21 then you get to add a new rule for the next game ie say a certain phrase instead of a particular number. Makes it more complex in the long run and great fun.
