Live your life in public dare

The idea behind this dare is that you expose your life to the world by setting up a DIY CCTV camera that will be accessible all over the world.

How to do it:

Download WebcamXP 5 (free version)
Connect your webcam to it (it does work with USB cams, but you might need something like ManyCam or similar software to sit in between your camera and the software)
WebcamXP normally runs on port 8080 (unless you change it), so you will need to configure your router to forward that port to your PC
Access your cam over the internet by typing your public IP address into a web browser. You can find your IP by going to www.whatismyip.com or similar websites

The free version does not allow you to set a password, so anyone who knows your IP address will be able to watch your camera. Within a few weeks it will probably also be picked up by IoT search engines, which will surely increase your audience further.

This would work best if you have a spare PC/laptop that you can set up so it can sit there and run all day/night without interferring with your daily life, and maybe with a full view of a room. Add additional cameras to it and show a more detailed view of your home life.

So, the dare is - put your private life in public and see how long before you forget that people are watching your most intimate moments - or before you get too freaked out and turn it off.

This is an interesting one. I've seen websites where couples set up these types of cams in their houses in most rooms and they get paid to have them going for 24 hours. It's the ultimate form of exhibitionism, they have no privacy. From the most menial and everyday tasks to moments of nudity and intimacy, anyone can see them. My girlfriend and I teased the idea of doing something like that if we could get paid for it, but both of us are a bit too chicken.

I agree, it's a complete invasion of privacy, and possibly questions limits that many may not have thought of. So, I'm trying it myself.
