Am i the only one who reads the ban lists and gets a little amused.

I read about one person that created multiple accounts and had them talking with each other. How is that not a little funny.

Sorry if I am offending someone.

I read it too every now and again and some of the comments from the Mods make my life. I know they are notes of reference for them, but they are hilarious sometimes.

However sometimes I wonder about the true reason. "Not a female" - how did they find out? That guy didn't post anything. Maybe it was also a multiple account, or maybe he said something in chat, or got reported.

Oh, and if you click on page 2, that is also very funny. A complete page full of spam accounts, all ending with "vot".

Sometimes you can also read "User requested". I wonder how this works. Can I just request the ban of somebody I don't like?

I think it would be more like the user asked to get themselves banned/account deleted or something? For.. whatever reason... *shrugs*

Just the reason, why someone wants to be banned, remains unclear.

I think I remember reading that accounts wouldn't be deleted since they pose a lot of hassle and could cause a lot of confusion, especially in the forums. Maybe by getting the account banned, somebody who wants to leave getDare and wants their account deleted, could do so without the undue complications that a deleted account would cause.

Also, yeah! I read the ban list every once in a while, and yes, the reasons are quite amusing

Yes, I will put user requested if somebody has asked to have their own account banned. They do this for several reasons, but it is usually the only alternative we offer to having an account deleted. I guess some people just don't have the self control to not log in, so they need us to ban them.

As for being able to tell if there is a male and female account, we can tell any different number of ways. Sometimes it is a report from another user who has screenshots to prove it. Sometimes it is being notified of that person using the same IP Address along with other evidence and similarities in their accounts. Or sometimes it is just because they are stupid enough to use the same ad for both accounts, with only two different genders.

Wonder what happens if it is a shared computer, maybe that is where the "other" proof comes into play. Hmmm

It is still funny and all, hope I never get banned. That would suck.

Yeah, we don't ban just based on IP addresses because people who might log on at the same coffee shop, or university are sometimes flagged as being the same person. My husband and I are flagged as being the same person as well. So we always have to take into account other information before we make that decision.
