Default Sleep is trial for death

What are your thoughts on 'sleep is trial for death'?

That sounds stupid o.o

When you're sleeping, your body and mind are still extremely active, working through memories and healing damages.
Meanwhile, when you're dead, your mind reverts back to the state it was in on the 17. September of the year 1848 while your body rapidly decays.

Sleep and death couldn't possibly be more opposite.

Hmmm... a nice interpretation. Do you mind if I use it for my project?

Sure, I don't mind. But what kind of project are you working on?

Are you trying to create new super soldiers again? <.<

People commonly reference sleep as an escape. It's an escape that allows you to pause your life for a while.

Death is also refered to as an escape. Unlike sleep this escape is forever. this escape can't be undone. There is no happiness, there are no dreams about the future you simply were alive and are now no longer alive.

I think that saying comes from that mentality of both are an escape from your life. however, people chose to sleep because it is a positive thing for your mind and body. People tend to choose to die because they think it will be better for the people around them.

Sleep is selfish. Sleep is something you choose to do for yourself everyday. Sleep is relaxing. sleep is peaceful. Sleep allows you to heal. Death is not selfish. people don't just choose to die because they feel like it. Some end up at the edge of a long winding path fighting through sleepless nights and helpless conversations. They strain relationships, they hide away. Some are gone abruptly, without a clue. They leave life unfinished. Death is not peaceful. Death is not relaxing. Death hurts.

You can't say that about death. We are all living and death has not yet come. And when death has come, we are not living...

As someone who remembers nothing of my sleep (dreams etc.) and someone who has contemplated suicide in the past and been affect by someone else's suicide, I talking about the feelings before hand, and probably after for sleep.

I would say it's somewhat specific to suicide...not as much so to an accident or medical thing. Have you ever spoken to a sick person about to pass away? Have you ever discussed with an elderly person what they felt about death? It takes an extremely faithful person to be calm in the face of death...even then very rarely does a person die at peace (without pain/feeling ready).

also. I can say whatever I want you asked for my thoughts and I have a lot of them I've lost several people in the past two years.

Sleep keeps us from becoming insane and unstable. Which reminds me to get more sleep as soon as possible!

Anyways, when we sleep, we're still very much alive. Well, i can only speak for myself ofcourse...

I think Sleep is the biological answer to "turn it off and on again".

This.
Absolutely this.

Can you imagine the helpdesk calls?

"I am sorry your spouse appears to be malfunctioning. Have you tried turning them off and on again?"
