Am I the only one who prefers porn pictures over videos?

I find the vast majority of porn videos very boring. There are some good parts, but most of the viewing time is spoiled by introductions, talking, 'stories', shots too long focusing on the same action...
Besides that, I just don't have the patience of sitting through even a half hour video.

Conversely, I can spend hours on ImageFap just browsing: looking for the best quality and most arousing/artistic/unique pictures I can find.
Yes, most pictures are low res and pretty crap too, but I find it a sport to find the (still many) good ones and save them to my ever growing personal collection.

And then there's the animated GIF's, which are probably a perfect compromise between the two media.

What are your thoughts?

I also think that pictures are better. For the same reasons you said but also beacause pictures are quiet.

I actually prefer written porn over pictures and almost never watch videos (their just a waste of time and limit fantasy)

I prefer pictures over videos. I also prefer written over videos.

The reason is the mind is way more thrilling then reality. In reality, it never goes exactly as you fantasize.

With a picture or a few pictures of the same person, you can visualize what you want the story to be.

With written, someone else has dome the work but typically in reality it won't be nearly as detailed or show the stars thoughts and feelings during the scenario.

Not sure if that makes sense to anyone.

I much rather a full out movie with alot of nudity and sex then porn. Porn is the sexual act itself but misses all the other details that make it much more thrilling. Sometimes the details are impossible for reality, hence the mind is great.

I prefer pictures, especially captions so I can fantasize further.

Videos let less over to the imagination which i like less.

Just text is also fun but there is sometimes too muh going on, rather have it stil simple.

I agree that pictures are often better. Picture or written porn are my preference, but of course there's a lot of poorly written porn.

I can appreciate that you get to use your imagination a little more than the prescriptive nature of video. What are y'alls favorite photos then?

I can agree with your sentiment about the porn videos usually taking too long. Might I suggest adding the word "compilation" to what you search? Usually these are more fast paced and show the good parts! These compilations are really the only reason I've stayed with porn videos for so long.

I will agree that places like ImageFap and e621 are awesome places for still images and you can definitely find the good stuff you're looking for, but sometimes you've gotta stick with the videos!

I like pictures with captions on them. I like reading a story better than watching one.

I too prefer photos to video (especially nice glossy ones with great lighting or fun poses).

But like a few of the others here, my first choice would actually be a great written story/caption.

Pariahterror suggested that sometimes there's too much detail in a written piece... and for me, that can be true on video too. Sometimes the details don't fit what actually excites me -- like having too much swearing, or taboo relationship connections -- and when that happens, even if the visuals are great otherwise, the storyline turns me off.

I also agree with Jaroface about having to wait for the interesting parts (and/or not being able to linger over them when the scene cuts to the next moment). I love a well-scripted drama, but the storytelling in porn [in my very limited experience] doesn't necessarily meet regular movie or book standards. So if I'm going to spend 20 minutes getting to the moment that feels magical for me... I'd generally rather do it looking at an intriguing still photo and letting my mind be creative, or reading really tightly-written erotica that speaks to my personal kinks, so I can more easily picture myself in the middle of the story being told.

I believe pictures are better as well. Simply cause most videos are well indeed actors. Within pictures there is a lot of reality. Also I believe in terms of pictures pretty much anything goes. As long as its within the laws. I'm pretty sure videos have to follow regulations but don't quote me on that cause i'm not an expert. xd

I also prefer pics over videos, especially with captions as other people have said. But more than that I prefer well written stories or audio files (e.g. soundgasm)
