I've been wanting to get a tattoo.. and I have some things in mind:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3120/...b4af7cf73c.jpg http://dcairns.files.wordpress.com/2..._02-film-b.jpg http://th01.deviantart.net/fs14/300W...SpiritWolf.jpg I was wondering if anyone here has any tattoos.. how much were they? Was it very painful? Feel free to share! Also, if you know anything about the legality of finding designs. I know the first one was commissioned for someone else so I probably can't get that, but what about the second? It's the cover for a book/movie. Thanks!

I have a tattoo of a butterfly and a music note on my shoulder. Took about 45 minutes and cost about £25. The thinner the lines, the more it hurts but didn't hurt that much. The outlining is always worse than the "colouring in."
I'm not sure about the legality of designs; I chose my butterfly from a flash sheet. (I think that's what they're called) inside the tattoo studio. If you are fond of the second one, I'd suggest changing it a little bit so it's not exactly the same, then it's not a direct copy.

I don't have a Tattoo but I'm as well thinking about one. I'd like the one I have as Avatar on my back (on the right bladebone). But I'd be rather big I think and I'm not quite settled yet. So I still wait, because I really want to be sure because i get one, its there forever.

i have to tatoos.
i have one on my right shoulder blade of two roses intertwined at the steam with a date and my bffs name on the petals... i also have another one of music staff swirling down my left side bright and colorful and music notes to my favorite song. it was kind of painful not going to lie.at some points i had to hold back tears.and im not a cry baby.i agree with the other person.the outlining hurts worse.the healing process isnt the greatest either.having to deal with constantly putting on lotion.and such.it peeling...its not great...but the end result is so amazing.i love my tatoos and never regret having them |

I have 5 Hours of work on my back. One small Frog on the lower right and the center of my back I have dueling dragons. Absoultly LOVE them and whileit hurt like hell I loved every minute of it. That being said...
First Dont just walk into any tattoo parlor. Ask those you know who have tattoos if they were happy with their work.. cost... ect... A good "Artist" Will work with you on your design to makeit your own. I had a general Idea. So I went to my uncle who is covered.. Literally.... And so we went from there. And dont feel stupid it is YOUR body! Ask questions, So no question is stupid. What so ever! Take your pics in. I can't look cuz well on the Celly. But I will then. I lucked out living near a city. But word of mouth is your best bet Always... Nix |

She's right though; word of mouth is definitely the best way to go.

I lucked out with my Uncle and his tattoo artist and believe me theres a difference between an "Artist" and someone who just does tattoos! If your near Philly I can tell ya where. But since most of you aren't. Im afraid I wont be much help there. Sure I think I can Handle putting a pic up of my back.
