I'm only used to reading plays, not screen plays, and they are a bit different,
starting with stage directions and scene setting.

Well writing in accents is bad! :P Only messing, I just wanted to stick up for the story and love grammar debates (yeah, I'm a geek.) But I stand by the correct way being 'an example' because the 'e' is still a vowel sound in 'proper' English. To be honest though, our language is so varied it doesn't really matter I guess!
