Firstly, imagine if you get burgled and the thieves steal your computer....
Second, if you have very sensitive files on there, I recommend you get
TrueCrypt and use that to store all your really personal stuff in. (you basically create a large file and use TC to mount it as a new drive, its heavily encrypted so don't forget the password)
