Ok. So you are going to find an old pair of trunks, ones that don't fit, etc. THEY HAVE TO HAVE LINING. The lining will be attached to the waistband of the swimsuit. So cut the shorts off of the waistband, this should be really simple.

You should be left with mesh hanging from your waistband, complete with drawstring!
I tried this myself and I liked it :P
