Can I make a suggestion.
If you are wanting to continue with your story, would it work better if you
1) used a different type of font/ text colour / text size etc to everyone else's symbolising the post is part of your story. (this will also help even if done via visitor messages as you have also communicated there with posts that are none story based)
2) like doc / Mbp were suggesting - do the story via private messages - between yourself privately THEN - when you have a significant amount of story (example 500 words +) / twice a week you post the private message after a little editing (take out quote and edit text so can define the two writers)
This way people CAN comment on the STORY if they wish and it doesn't break up the flow.
