I cant speak for females but for me when i first went to a sex shop i wasn't embarrassed but more nervous that i would run into someone i know.

For me personally i would prefer a female to serve me and once i had been served by them the first time and got to know them it was easier the next time i went there.

For me i think its men that feel more embarrassed to buy items like dildos and things like that but the staff have always been fully discreet with me and made me feel more comfortable.

I think it shouldn't be embarrassing for ether sex as the staff know why your in the shop and you know what you want.

Buying panties would be more embarrassing.
