Did you have problem with it because of the size of it? There are many types of tampons on the market some are very small, others larger. Some with applicators & some don't have. Ones with plastic applicators might be easiest to slide in. O.B. tampons have no applicators & are relatively small.

Also Onknees has a point here. Yes, it can be toxic if you leave it there too long. All I can say is that if you're unexperienced with this start with smaller & don't leave it in there for too long.
