What is some guidance or advise you wish you had when you joined GD?

Joining GetDare is quite a milestone for most members, this site exposes you to a new world, with all kinds of fun opportunities to interact with people, to learn and to grow...it really is a very specific experience and everyone faces something a little different depending on what they look out for!

Though I wonder, from new and old members alike, what is some advise you would like to have been given when you started out?

Did you have any problems because of not knowing what this place is like?

Is there a section you only discovered now and wish you had known about earlier?

Did a post of yours go badly because of the way you set it out?

How would you advise new people on how to make the most of this place, stay safe and enjoy GD?

Maybe having a bit more patience on the site.

Especially when i first joined id be looking for dares to complete asap, however it doesn't really work like that.

Also helps to be involved in the community, answering truths, asking questions etc... That way you get to know a few people and i find they usually look to help when you seek dares yourself.

Final thing would be to not expect anything, and not be annoying if no one quite gives you the dare you are looking for. I see a lot of people bumping their threads even though they're a definite lost cause.

Be patient, Be active in the community, Dont be annoying

I agree completely, patience is a must on this site. Not everyone will respond to a message, not every thread you create will get attention, likely your PM dares will not be touched very often - of course most of the above is for the guys...as let's face it we are in a high majority here!

Good points about being a part of the community, it's always good when people make a positive contribution, not just by creating threads but by building on what others have started :)

This is more of a guidance for females, but don't get overwhelmed with the males pming you.

Many will ask for Kik/line etc. Or try to violate limits first hand or just be a general butt. It is okay to ignore them and pretend they don't exists.

This applies to everyone. The ignore list is there for a reason. There's no shame in using it.
