Wow, thanks for the intelligent question. By popular science, do you mean scientist who addresses the public in understandable terms? if that is the case, I must say Stephen Hawking, especially if you consider how well he explained some complex physics in A Brief History of Time. A close second would be Neil DeGrasse Tyson.

Yes, that is what I meant! :) Thank you for the answer. Though I'm not a fan of his militant atheism, I do enjoy listing to Lawrence Krauss when he talks about the beginning of the universe.
