Telegram and anonymity
With Kik backsliding into a burning dumpster (again...) I'm thinking about switching to or at least adding telegram to my kinky communication suite.
I'm a bit concerned though that telegram is more mainstream and less anonymous. Kik's major benefit has always been that 1) it's completely anonymous, whereas telegram is linked to your phone number and 2) it's enough of a dumpster fire that no one uses it in real life, whereas telegram has some mainstream use. For those already using telegram, can real life (non kinky) friends and family find you through your phone number? Do you have kinky and nonkinky chats side by side? What do you use as your name to protect anonymity for kinky chats but not get awkward questions for nonkinky ones? |
While your account is linked to your number you can keep your number fully private, and turn off discoverability for it.
I just use my relatively common first name without a surname. |
While Telegram can do this, Signal Messenger can now also do it too. Signal is widely regarded as the most secure messaging app to keep conversations private if this is of concern to you. I highly recommend it.

As Wiki states - "In March 2017, Signal was approved by the sergeant at arms of the U.S. Senate for use by senators and their staff."
So it should do the job for you too. I use telegram and signal for more then 8 years now without any problem. |
My Dom and I mostly use Obedience lately.

I have a paid subscription to the Obedience app and I find it great as a secondary app for tracking re-occurring tasks. The points system can have it's uses too.
Unfortunately I find it's chat features are pretty limited and I have a lot of doubts about its security and privacy, including the potential of the developer to snoop. Certainly worth a look for an online D/s dynamic, and limited functionality is available for free. Azyliux |
I've used telegram because you can hidden your phone number. I'm unsure if you can send dirty pics anymore. It looks like a lot of people use it so I think you can

As long as your account is linked to your number, you have the option to keep your number completely private and disable discoverability for it. I simply use my relatively common first name without a surname.
