getDare Summer Awards
 

Hey!

I'm here simply to propose a little idea. I would love to see two awards shows done each year, preferably by a Moderator or someone with a decent level of experience on the forums. Basically the idea would be that at the end of the Summer period (Start of September) and at the end of the Year there would be two seperate award shows.

These would consist of both a Summer Awards as well as a End of Year Awards. The categories would be things such as:

- Most daring Male
- Most daring Female
- Best Submissive User
- Best Dominant User
- Best Moderator
- Best Thread
- Best Newcomer
- Most Revealing Member (award for like best Ask Me Anything thread)

Obviously those are just a few ideas. The moderators would then have a meeting and then between themselves, they would decide about 5-10 nominees for each award. A moderator would then publish a thread with the full list of awards with the nominees for each award.

After that was published, users would have like a week to comment or Private Message who they think should win each award. These would then be counted up and whoever wins the public vote would then win that award.

Can also make online trophies or banners for peoples signatures etc.

I know there is a forum for it but it doesn't get used that much. This would be a proper awards show type deal with acceptance speeches etc.

No single (group of) user(s) can decide who should be nominated for any awards. That's the reason why not only moderators or very active users nominate others but rather hold dare competitions and let other people nominate users for award categories.

And like Butterfly said, we already have such awards in the Competition section ...

• Best Blogger
• The Chattiest
• Best Dare
• Best Photos
• Best Moderator
• Best Report
• Best Story
• Best Truths

Also, I'm not sure why there should be a Summer and End year (winter?) reward. Prestige rewards are usually given annually. I think that we already have enough award categories and if anything should be changed, it'll happen the next year (2018) and not halfway through the current award nominations.

Also, I'm wondering how people could cast their votes for Best Submissive User, Best Newcomer and the kind of award categories in which by far not everyone might know the user. Those nominated for these awards who have lots of friends and contacts on getDare will probably win as if it's a popularity contest and not really about being the best at something. Just my hypothesis, maybe I'm wrong though.
