I personally don't find going to a sex shop embarrassing in the slightest, I think part of the reason your answers are trending this way is the nature of this site. i can rationalize it and dont feel embarrassed talking about my experiences and my toys and stuff in the least, or going to the sex shop
however the first time i went there there was a hot female clerk and she immediately came up to me to help, i chocked up and didnt buy anything

I cant speak for females but for me when i first went to a sex shop i wasn't embarrassed but more nervous that i would run into someone i know.

For me personally i would prefer a female to serve me and once i had been served by them the first time and got to know them it was easier the next time i went there.

For me i think its men that feel more embarrassed to buy items like dildos and things like that but the staff have always been fully discreet with me and made me feel more comfortable.

All of the general questions had to do with embarrassment. I don’t think it is embarrassing at all to be at a sex shop. I have purchased many items from sex shops - sometimes by myself and sometimes with my SO. People work and shop at sex shops because they are into that stuff. I have bought dildos, butt plugs anal beads, vibrators, prostate massagers, cock rings, urethra sounds, all sorts of toys.

I went from buying a butt plug training kit to buying a single large butt plug (while shopping with a plug in my ass). The store employees know you are going to use the items on yourself or someone else, but they don’t care. They probably do the same.

I went to my local sex shop to buy urethra sounds years ago and had a 10 minute conversation with a female employee about her experiences using the sounds I ended up buying.
