Spam Bots
 

I keep on having about three PMs a day by people trying to sell me stuff and put me on dodgey sites. I get that it's hard to deal with but if I got this as I just joined the site this would turn me away easy. Thanks to the mods and hopefully this gets sorted soon.

And did you not see the notices and "Stop reporting spam" threads in every forum? The mods are working on it... Just be patient --'

I didn't even make the link in my mind between the bots and the "Stop spamming posts" by admin until this post ahaha

I hadn't even made the connection! It's strange though, I've been here for years and had never gotta a spam bot pm until now where like OP is dealing with, I get multiple a day. I might've been previously lucky or maybe there's been an influx?

I already reported the few that I've gotten but I'll just delete the next, did not see the "stop reporting" posts and I understand the mods are working on it

look at the online user list. every user with 4 numbers after the name is a bot. there are thousands, just be glad you are only getting 3-4 a day

They got a huge number of site visitors though look at the numbers

I don't understand why we aren't just able to block these people straight from the pm

I started receiving these PMs about a week ago. It is incredibly annoying!
