Another bot?

About 30 minutes ago I received a PM but inside was a link for some gambling websites. Has anyone else received the same message?

socklover 07-20-2017 12:45 PM

I just git the same message but i deleted it

Mreow 07-20-2017 12:46 PM

I don't know if you saw it but there are currently 3000 users connected :x

SissyTim 07-20-2017 12:49 PM

Now that you mentioned it, it really looks crazy. It seems that all users with 4 numbers in their usernames are bots. I hope that admins will react very quickly about this situation.

Kisune Karnon 07-20-2017 12:51 PM

I deleted the message and reported the profile. Which is how everyone should do it.

Komodo Jones 07-20-2017 01:05 PM

Same as above, reported the message then quickly deleted it. I always get so excited when I get an e-mail saying I have a new pm here and then it's something worthless like that.

My thoughts exactly, just as I thought I got a message from someone,I realized it was a total rubbish.

fieldman 07-20-2017 01:26 PM

That's one helluva lot of spam bots.

jh81 07-20-2017 01:56 PM

Ditto.

Reported. Deleted. Annoyed.

jeff10145 07-20-2017 02:11 PM

It appears that Every time I refresh the page the *new user* under the active users is a new one, seems a new not is generated every few seconds.

mildura man 07-20-2017 03:05 PM

I got the same when i checked my messages.

Butterfly 07-20-2017 03:33 PM

We are aware of the spam bots and are working at trying to get rid of them. Please stop reporting them as that only makes more work for us at this time. There is only so much we can do. Thanks for your patience.

Rockhard7 07-20-2017 09:30 PM

Thanks

Thank you for the fix! I commend you for the relatively quick fix in the grand scheme of things :D

Mreow 07-21-2017 01:06 AM

Good job to the admins ^^

MasterMichaelNY 07-21-2017 01:49 AM

Yup got one, and reported it too.

RinOkumura 07-21-2017 03:08 AM

Yeah kitten got it too

Rockhard7 07-21-2017 01:22 PM

It seems they are back, I have yet to get a PM. But a lot of new accounts/people live again.

The pattern is [A-Za-z]+[0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9]

Bulle223 07-21-2017 01:28 PM

got another message from a user that just registered. talking about how shes a slut and how i should checkout her pussy pics. she then posted a bit.ly link. looks to me to be another type of bot.

do not press the link if you get the same message.

Grand.Master691 07-21-2017 01:46 PM

I've got a similar messagevand deleted it. Just like Bulle223 said, do not open any links in the message.

Heswitch 07-21-2017 01:48 PM

felcoonerdesc1114

MasterMichaelNY 07-21-2017 02:05 PM

Auryn 07-21-2017 02:21 PM

i saw that too. someone needs spell check

Komodo Jones 07-21-2017 02:31 PM

I got one of the pussy pic too. Didn't click the link though. It was almost hard whether this was spam or not because some people who speak English, as their native language, speak this way. But posting to potential nudity and as a previous user said "cooking dick"...I would kind of like it attached to my body instead of the main protein in some weird illiterate alphabet soup.

Spotted Dick, surely?

webcamplayer 07-21-2017 04:45 PM

Three in one day.

MasterMichaelNY 07-21-2017 05:55 PM

Holy shit, check out the main page, at the bottom for users logged into in one day. There's about 3 thousand or more bot accounts.

Keep in mind, they have 4 numbers at the end.

Got the exact same thing and another message about a casino. Knew from the title it was spam, seen it before on another site. First time i've ever got the s word on here tho so gD do a good job of keeping it out of my inbox.

KurumiTokisaki123 07-22-2017 05:45 AM

I got 3 messages from 3 different bots.

oddjobber 07-22-2017 05:47 AM

in the past few days i have gotten 3 spam pm messages..different profiles each time. whats going on?

Gyev 07-22-2017 05:53 AM

I can only imagine how many unnecessary reports the mods received. :p

Darechallenges 07-22-2017 06:10 AM

True. I just reported my second one, when I saw the users currently online in the forum... The site seems to have an issue. I hope you can solve it without too much work involved!

Gyev 07-22-2017 06:14 AM

Sure, keep spamming the reports section, so the mods will have an additional work to do, because surely they haven't noticed these bots yet :D

Sam~ 07-22-2017 06:18 AM

yes, best not to report them. Or more serious matters will get missed or slowed down. Reporting each spam pm is not going to help anyone. There are thousands......

There doing what they can. Hope they can think of a long term solution though.

oddjobber 07-22-2017 06:27 AM

since there is no real trouble ticket system, a thread like this for spam reporting is worth while. spam within the site is potential sign of greater underlying problems. it should be reported, at least somewhere, so mods or admins can track frequency and trends. any information will help them diagnose and resolve the problem.

lola.fox 07-22-2017 06:30 AM

There are currently 35 pages of reports about spam since Riskyflame posted not to report it.. it's safe to say no moderator will be looking at reports for quite awhile. If you have an urgent matter, pm someone, as your report will likely go unread.

I think you don't realise how annoying being flooded with the reports is. Among your hundreds or dozens of reports, there may be one real report about something unrelated to the obvious problem, which will remain unnoticed, because some folks decided to spam the reports section. Between all reports saying "another bot who sends messages" (while it's already known to everybody) there may be one report on a vile member who acts against the rules, and no one will see this report.

Besides, a staff member in another thread already asked people to stop reporting.

EDIT: And now another staff member said the same :D

Well, congratulations fellow members, your reports are so helpful that no one is even going to read them :D And unfortunately important reports won't be read neither because of that.

oddjobber 07-22-2017 08:52 AM

reports should be filed..not saying each pm needs to be reported but when you start getting them everyday when you havent before, theres clearly an unresolved issue.

if high priority issues are being missed, theres a problem with the reporting system as well.

I'm on the invisible mode and haven't received a single message from a bot.
