Personally I would recommend buying a soft/flexible dildo.
It is also easy to have a dildo with suction cup for some handsfree work. (Like when using the Self Bondage BlowJob trainer)
Other then that, size and shape is left and this depends completely on you.
To find out your throat size (width and length) I suggest you practice some deepthroating with a cucumber. Take off the skin and try to deepthroat it, if it is to big, cut off a bit. If it is to easy, get a bigger cucumber :) When you have a good size, measure it up and go shopping.
